Not just big box stores: Local businesses offer Cyber Monday deals, too
MADISON, Wis. — Cyber Monday isn’t just for big box stores – you can find local deals on the shopping day, too.
Marie Hunter Beauty is one such local shop. The Madison-based beauty line launched two years ago and is offering 15 percent off on Cyber Monday. Owner KeNisha Ruff said online sales make up 75 percent of her business.
“It helps me expand my customer base by finding clients from all over the world,” she said. “It would be harder for me to reach the customers I’m reaching for … I’m not sure where I’d be without it.”
Down the road in Verona, Savory Accents offers all the sauces and spices you’ll ever need. For Cyber Monday, the business is offering special gift boxes.
Owner Ted Ballweg says even more important than sales is the information sharing online.
“We used to hand out dozens and dozens of recipes for each product,” he said. “Now, we just put those recipes online.”
Not only does his business offer up ideas, but customers post their own creations, as well.
“It becomes a dialogue,” he said. “You talk to customers, and customers talk to you.”
