First Wildcats win at Kohl Center
MADISON — Drew Crawford scored a career high 30 points as the Northwestern Wildcats defeated the Wisconsin Badgers in a men’s basketball game at the Kohl Center Wednesday night.
The Badgers had a 32-27 lead early in the second half, but Tre Demps and JerShon Cobb hit consecutive three point shots as the Wildcats took the lead for good.
Wisconsin was 15-57 on field goal attempts – just 26 percent.
It was the first win for Northwestern over Wisconsin in Madison since 1996 and the first-ever win for the Wildcats at the Kohl Center, which opened in 1998.
Ben Brust led the Badgers with 21 points, Sam Dekker added 11 points and 7 rebounds while Frank Kaminsky had 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Wisconsin is now 17-4 overall and 4-4 in the Big Ten. Northwestern improves to 11-11 overall and 4-5 in the Big Ten.
