North Central Group to purchase Madison’s Crowne Plaza hotel, will transition into Hilton DoubleTree
MADISON, Wis. — North Central Group will purchase and begin transitioning Madison’s Crowne Plaza hotel on East Washington Avenue into a Hilton DoubleTree.
A news release said the property is slated to be unveiled to guests and the public in the fall.
The existing hotel closed on Friday ahead of the building’s six-month renovation.
The improvements will focus on creating a “clean, modern and upscale aesthetic through a full renovation of the building’s lobby, guestrooms, restaurant/bar and meeting/banquet spaces.”
The release said the Middleton-based property management company is working to accommodate reservations that were previously made at the Crowne Plaza by allowing guests to book at the company’s nine other Madison-area properties. The company said it is also working to create opportunities for existing staff and team members at its other hotel properties.
“We are thrilled to begin this project, as well as create a lasting impression for even more guests as they travel to Madison,” said Jeff Lenz, President and Chief Development Officer for North Central Group. “This renovation will be transformational, and we can’t wait for guests to experience it later this fall.”
