No violations found at go-kart track after fatal crash
No violations were found at the Wisconsin Dells go-kart track where a 45-year-old man was killed Wednesday night.
The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services said Monday that Alligator Alley Adventures is free to operate the go-kart track.
Wade Wiese was killed after he lost control of his go-kart and hit a wooden post. The Iowa native was vacationing with his family when the accident took place.
A public information officer with DSPS said Alligator Alley Adventures passed its annual inspection three weeks ago.
DSPS also said the owner had no prior history of any problems. A state statute regulates multiple areas when it comes to go-kart safety: vehicle, track, course speed and signage.
A state engineer revisited the course after the incident.
