Plane makes emergency landing in Adams County

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — Authorities in Adams County say nobody was hurt when a plane had to make an emergency landing in a field Wednesday afternoon.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says it got a call shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday about a downed plane in the area of Highway 23 and 5th Avenue north of Wisconsin Dells. The plane was spotted by two military aircrafts that were flying overhead.

Authorities say their investigation found the small private plane was flying through the Wisconsin Dells area when the pilot began to notice the engine failing. The person was able to land the plane safely in a corn field.

The pilot was not hurt and the plane was not damaged in the emergency landing.
