Madison police recovered several shell casings early Tuesday morning on Madison’s east side after receiving several reports of gun shots.

Officers responded to the 3500 block of Ridgeway Avenue around 1:20 a.m. after several residents reported hearing gun shots, according to a release.

Police found several shell casings, but did not get any reports of property damage or injuries, officials said.

Callers reported seeing several cars driving quickly from the area after the shots were heard, according to the release.
