Want to help Madison East High School renovate their fieldhouse? Voting for a grant ends tomorrow

MADISON, Wis. - Madison East High School is $250,000 away to reaching the $3.2 million it needs to cover the cost of renovating the school's Milton McPike Field House.

The school has received district funding and community donations, adding to a total of $2.9 million.

To reach the remaining $250,000, the school is hoping to win the State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant. The grant would cover $25,000 of the remaining costs, or 10 percent. Voting for the project ends Friday at midnight, and people can vote at the grant's website.

East High said the fieldhouse renovations would add amenities such as extra bleachers, a new entry way to the school and new basketball courts.

"The amount of pride in the community that this new space will bring has really trickled down to our students, to where they're really holding their heads a little bit higher now, knowing that this brand new, 3.2 million dollar facility will be theirs in their home," said Madison East High School athletic director TJ Rogness.

Although voting for the State Farm grant ends Friday, the school will still be collecting donations after.
