Vehicle crashes while driving through local car wash

No one injured in accident

MADISON, Wis. - A car going through Mister Car Wash Tuesday afternoon, suddenly crashed through the garage door of the business and then sped across University Avenue, hitting and damaging a second garage door across the street.

According to a Madison Fire Department incident report, no one was injured in the crash. While firefighters determined both buildings were not compromised in the accident, but two garage doors were damaged. The garage door of Mister Car Wash was placed out of service.

The vehicle that caused the crash was driven by one of the employees of the car wash who was pulling the car forward within the facility.

The driver of the vehicle said she sustained no injuries, the incident report said. While cutting across the busy road, no other cars or pedestrians were struck.

Madison Metro's bus routes were impacted for a short time after the crash, the incident report said.

Madison police stayed on the scene to investigate the crash.
