MADISON, Wis. -- Six people were arrested after investigators said they coordinated a shipment of over five kilograms of fentanyl from Arizona to Madison, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation said Friday.
Lloyd McKire-Bennett, 27; Dejon Glover, 21; Christopher Wilson, 46; Deshawn Davis, 27, and John Maser, 34, all of Madison, as well as Yoshi Walker, 25, of Minneapolis were all arrested Monday and face federal drug trafficking charges. Officials said six firearms, including one modified to be fully automatic, were seized during the arrest.
"Fentanyl is incredibly dangerous," Attorney General Josh Kaul said. "We’re committed to dismantling the networks that traffic this and other dangerous narcotics."
The six people are accused of using the United States Postal Service to transport drugs. The arrests were made as part of an investigation by the DCI, United States Postal Inspection Services, United States Drug Enforcement Administration, Dane County Narcotics Task Force, and the Madison Police Department.
Officials said warrants were issued for two other people in connection with the case. The case will be prosecuted in federal court in the Western District of Wisconsin.
