MADISON, Wis . - Wisconsin members of Congress responded to President Donald Trump's State of the Union address Tuesday night. 

Speaker Paul Ryan, who was on stage behind Trump throughout the speech, said on Twitter he agrees with the president that the state of the economy is strong. 



Democratic Rep. Mark Pocan tweeted that the speech had "empty rhetoric" and that next time Trump should back up policy proposals. 


Sen. Ron Johnson thanked the president.


Sen. Tammy Baldwin made a call to the president asking him to put words into action and rebuild infrastructure with American workers and products.
