IKEA opening Wednesday in Oak Creek

Location will be 48th in U.S.

OAK CREEK, Wis. - The first Wisconsin IKEA, in Oak Creek, will be opening its doors at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16.

According to a release, customers can start lining up at the store at 5 a.m. Starting at 6 a.m., there will be entertainment for customers. There will also be a grand opening ceremony at 8:15 a.m.

There will be giveaways, free gifts for those first in line and special deals throughout the day.

“We have received such a warm welcome from the Milwaukee area, and we want to return the favor by welcoming our shoppers with food, fun and iconic IKEA products," Samantha Gravina, the store manager, said.

The first 200 kids 12 years old and younger will get a free heart-shaped toy and the first 1,000 adults will receive a welcome gift. 

Individuals in line before 8 a.m. will be entered for a chance to win three gift cards valued at $500, $1,500 and $2,000.

Customers will receive a free blue bag with purchase. If they use an IKEA FAMILY card in-store from May 16-May 28 and spend $125, customers will receive $20 off their next purchase of $100 or more. Visitors who join IKEA FAMILY or scan their card will be entered to win one of 22 $250 IKEA gift cards.
