Fitchburg police investigate shots fired incident

FITCHBURG, Wis. - Fitchburg police responded after a single shot was fired on Index Road late Friday morning.

According to police officials, witnesses of the incident reported seeing three males arguing on the 2900 block of Index Road before one of them fired a single shot from a handgun around 11:15 a.m. 

Officers later found evidence to confirm the gunshot.

Police said that at least one of the suspects left the area in an older, black, Buick sedan with temporary registration plates.
