Surveillance video shows masked gunman entering, leaving north Madison gas station, police say

MADISON, Wis. - A masked gunman entered a north Madison gas station Thursday afternoon, but left when there were no employees in the front of the store, police said.

Madison police said employees at the Citgo on Northport Drive were in the back of the store stocking shelves at about 2:15 p.m. Thursday.

According to the report, the employees watched as the gunman walked up to the front counter. There were no employees there and the masked man left.

Video surveillance shows him holding a silver handgun, police said. He was wearing a black face mask under a gray stocking cap and a black knee-length coat, police said.
