PD: Man carrying apparent long gun wrapped in cloth robs Madison gas station

MADISON, Wis. - A man carrying what appeared to be a partially covered gun robbed an east Madison gas station Tuesday night, police said. 

Madison police said the robber entered the Mobil gas station on Cottage Grove Road at about 7 p.m. He was carrying what appeared to be a long gun wrapped in a piece of cloth or clothing. 

The clerk told police the man demanded cash from the till before taking off on foot. Madison police dog Boris attempted to track the robber, but couldn't find him. 

The robber was described as white, in his 30s, with a thin-to-medium build. He was wearing a black jacket with a black scarf over his face, according to the report.
