MADISON, Wis. - A Madison man's gun was stolen from his car Thursday afternoon.

Madison police said a 23-year-old man reported that someone got into his car and stole his 9mm handgun.

He came to the MPD's North District station to report the crime. The car was parked outside of his East Bluff residence. He told officers he thought the car had been locked.

He said he likes to leave his gun in the car because he has little kids at home.
