New security procedures in place at Dane County Courthouse
MADISON, Wis. — Security screeners will no longer hold on to prohibited items brought into the Dane County Courthouse.
Anyone entering the courthouse with a banned item will be asked to remove it before moving past the security checkpoint, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
Items like guns, knifes, ammunition, tasers, batons, pepper spray, sharp kitchen utensils, skateboards, bikes, drugs and alcohol are some prohibitied items. You can read more about banned items by clicking on this link.
Weapon screeners also have the right to disallow any other item they feel could lead to a safety or security issue.
The new security procedures went into effect Wednesday.
