While you typically wouldn’t expect a mechanical subcontractor to release a whiskey, Dave Jones Inc. in Madison partnered with Fitchburg’s Yahara Bay Distillers to come up with whiskey for a cause.

The new liquor “Dave’s Fave” combines the company’s love of cinnamon-flavored whiskey with its core value of “Work Hard, Play Hard,” a release says. Dave Jones Inc. is a mechanical subcontractor specializing in plumbing, HVAC, fire protection and electrical with headquarters in Madison.

The whiskey was originally meant to be used as gifts and at company parties, but they decided to bring the product to market with 100% of proceeds benefiting local Wisconsin charities.

In 2020 and 2021, the proceeds of Dave’s Fave will go to UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital.

Yahara Bay Distillers worked with Dave Jones Inc. to create a whiskey without the “thick, syrup-like consistency commonly associated with our competitors,” the release says.

Dave’s Fave can be found across the state, but in the Madison area can be found at Miller & Sons Grocery in Mount Horeb, Mr. Brews in Monona and on Junction Road, City View Liquor, and Steve’s Liquor in Fitchburg.
