New Glarus unveils new mural highlighting local culture, Swiss heritage

NEW GLARUS, Wis. — The New Glarus Chamber of Commerce unveiled a new mural Wednesday.
The artwork, painted onto the old New Glarus Foods building at 421 2nd Street by local artist Chad Caso, celebrates the city’s Swiss heritage and shows off local imagery.
“It’s been a long road to get here,” Chamber of Commerce executive director Bekah Stauffacher said. “The pandemic delayed things, but we are so happy to see the project completed – Chad did an amazing job.”
This is one of many murals that Caso has painted across Southern Wisconsin. He also designed artworks at the New Glarus Veterans Memorial Hall and East Madison Community Center.
