New ad targets Walker’s views on abortion
Ad released Monday
MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker defends his anti-abortion views in a new television ad released at the same time that a national abortion-rights group announced its own spot saying Walker needs to “just leave women alone.”
The dueling ads unveiled Monday demonstrate an intensifying effort to win over female voters in the right governor’s race a month before the election.
The ad attacking Walker for supporting a law requiring women to get an ultrasound before having an abortion comes from the group Emily’s List. The ad also refers to Walker’s opposition to abortion even in cases of rape and incest.
Walker speaks directly to the camera in his spot, saying that reasonable people can disagree on abortion, but his priority is protecting the health and safety of all citizens.
