Near east side gas station robbed at gunpoint
K-9 tracks robber to Demetral Field; No one found
MADISON, Wis. — A gas station on Commercial Avenue was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning, according to a release from Madison police.
The robber displayed a handgun and took cash from the till of Deon’s BP at 2301 Commercial Ave. around 11 a.m., police said. The robber fled on foot.
A police K-9 tracked the robber to the area of Demetral Field, but no one was found, according to the release.
The robber is described as a black man 25-30 years old with a medium build and clean-shaven. He was wearing tan pants, a black sweatshirt with “Wisconsin” across the front in red letters, a dark-colored shirt and a Milwaukee Brewers baseball hat.
