MIDDLETON-Neal Venden, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on December 10, 1946, in Reedsburg, the son of Olaf and Lillian (Westedt) Venden. A 1965 graduate of Middleton High School, he went on to further his education at MATC earning a marketing degree in 1972. Neal proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Marcia Mosigin on April 24, 1971 in Middleton. Neal owned and operated Middleton Alignment for over 25 years and prided himself on his dedication to his customers. He had a variety of interests including racing stock cars in his younger years and later enjoying Nascar, but his passion was fishing. Neal was an avid fisherman who along with his fishing buddies took both spring and fall fishing trips. He also took an annual “birthday” fishing trip to Cabo San Lucas.
Neal is survived by his wife, Marcia; three children, Andrew (Jennifer) Venden, Amy Venden and James (Chhengre Lim) Venden; four grandchildren, Nina Harwood, Alex and Mia Venden and Neal Andrew “Drew” Venden; a god daughter, Julie Uminski; three brothers, Nick, Norman and Ned; a sister, Nancy Venden; five nieces and nephews, Marcy Gretzlock, John (Jessica) Haag, Taryn (Jesse) German, Krin (Dan) Carhart and Ian (Klaudia) Barberi and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Burial will be in Middleton Junction Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, October 5, 2012 and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
