Naomi (Newkirk) Johnson, 102, of Richland Center, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Schmitt Woodland Hills.
She was born on November 15, 1918, the daughter of Willard and Maude (Fuller) Newkirk. On March 6, 1939, she married Clyde Isaac Johnson in Dubuque, Iowa. They loved watching birds, listening to the Sandhill Cranes, and seeing the Trumpeter Swans families grow in the Babcock area.
Naomi enjoyed cats and adopted many cats over the years. Naomi and Clyde appreciated being able to travel all over the United States, especially visiting her brother Clifford in Idaho. Naomi worked at the Sextonville Waterworks Sanitation District for 46 years. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and growing flowers.
Naomi is survived by her sisters Gert (Newkirk) Rosenau, Charlotte (Newkirk) Bindl, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Naomi was preceded in death her parents, husband Clyde, siblings Oliver, Clifford, Ralph, Iva, Helen, and Walter.
