Nancy J. “Nan” Bois-Borchert

Nancy J. “Nan” Bois-Borchert, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, at UW Hospital. She was born on May 27, 1935, in LaCrosse, WI, to Jerome G. and Ruby M. (Low) Zein. Nan was previously married to Paul Bois and had three sons. She then later married Bill Borchert. She worked at the VA Hospital in North Carolina and later in Madison in the healthcare industry. She was a member of Elks Lodge No. 410 Auxiliary and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Nan loved traveling to Florida for the winters. She also loved to swim and competed in high school. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, playing games, cooking and won ribbons for her watercolor paintings. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Nan is survived by her husband Bill; two sons, Jerry (Tammy) of Belleville and Richard of Madison; daughter-in-law, Denise Bois of Rogers, MN; step-daughters, Roylene (Greg) Galbraith and Lisa (Kurt) Kuwitzky, all of Cottage Grove; Grandchildren include, Sarah Bois (Blake), Hunter and Sean Bois, Sophie Krone, Jacob Bois, Brady (Sam) McSherry, Kala (Jake) McWain, Matt (Anke) Kohlhardt, Josh (Cassie) Galbraith, Dave Galbraith (Amber) and Conrad Kuwitzky; and great-grandchildren, Mac, Mercedes, Annika, Bentley and Violet. She is preceded in death by her parents and son John Bois.

The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life.
