Nancy Hanson, age 78, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital in Prairie Du Sac, WI.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Father Eric Sternberg celebrating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 5, 2017, at the Picha Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Wisconsin Dells and again on Monday morning, November 6, 2017, at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

Nancy was born July 9, 1939, in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, the daughter of Howard and Rose (Klein) Heitman. Nancy and Sheldon were high school sweethearts and were married for 59 years. Nancy was a loving wife and mother to her husband and five children, as well as a fun-loving grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a co-owner of Pride of America Campground for 27 years. Nancy enjoyed camping and fishing in Eagle River as well as traveling across the United States. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Sheldon; son, Dan (Diana) Hanson of Johnson Creek, WI; daughters, Shelley (Craig) Steingraeber of Pardeeville, WI, Pamela (James) Genrich of Elgin, IL, Sally (Daniel) Haberkorn of Pardeeville, WI and Susan (John) Hanson-Marx of Wisconsin Dells, WI; brothers, Norman (Maureen) Heitman of Middleton, WI, Mark (Ellen) Heitman of Mauston, WI and Mike (Dawn) Heitman of Oshkosh, WI; sister, Jean (Kevin) Runde of Reedsburg, WI; 11 grandchildren, Annie, Kevin, Jacob, Andrea, Amanda, Hunter, Amaria, Caden, Liam, Travis, Caelan and 4 great-grandchildren, Aedan, Rowan, Finley and Rosalyn. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carolyn Sweeney and brother, Gary Heitman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carbone Cancer Center. The family would also like to thank her UW physicians and the caring staff at Sauk Prairie Hospital for their wonderful care.
