Authorities identify man killed in snowmobile crash

Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a two-vehicle crash in Dodge County Wednesday morning.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of the car in the accident, Cory Larsen, 29, of Hartford, Wis., was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the sheriff’s department received a report of a crash involving a car and truck at 9:38 a.m. The crash happened on Highway 16 between Fairwood Road and Highway J in the town of Lowell.

The preliminary investigation indicated the Toyota Corolla, driven by Larsen, was westbound on Highway 16 when it crossed the center line and sideswiped an eastbound Ford F-550 Super Duty truck. The truck was pulling an empty 2003 Belh trailer.

Larsen’s passenger, Sally Williford, 23, of Stoughton, was taken by helicopter to the hospital with serious injuries, the sheriff’s department said.

Allen Sappington, 20, of Orion, Ill. and his passenger David Garcia, 49, of Shiocton, Wis., were not injured, the report said.

The crash remains under investigation.
