Murill C. Curly Stinnett
Madison – Murill C. “Curly” Stinnett, age 84, passed away at home Saturday, October 13, 2012 with his loving family and his friend and loyal companion “Mason” by his side.
Murill was born in Amherst, VA on September 20, 1928 to Edwin and Elizabeth (Carr) Stinnett. He moved to his beloved West Virginia, where he met his wife of 62 years, Virginia “Jennie” Stinnett (Meddings). The family moved to Wisconsin in 1968. Murill was a veteran of World War II where he very proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a life-time member at VFW 8483. Murill graduated from Coyne Electronic School in Chicago after the service and worked for Sears – Fordem Avenue until he had to take early retirement.
He loved to play euchre, poker, working puzzles, gardening and bowling; he had a great sense of humor, with a blend of unique sayings for everything. Murill was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie; children Candy (Willie) Blacks, Debbie (Bob) Seifert, Cheryl (Rubin) Pecpec, and Murill “Ed” Stinnett; 7 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Mike Mayhack officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
