MPD: Teens try stealing safe from mall kiosk

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police said two teenage boys tried to steal a safe from a West Towne Mall kiosk Thursday night.

Both a mall employee and alarm company called police around 10 p.m. after a kiosk alarm was triggered.

According to a release by the Madison Police Department, officers and the suspects spotted each other during the investigation.

Police said the teenage boys dropped a safe from a cell phone kiosk and ran away.

A K9 unit was brought it, but unable to track the suspects, the release said.
