MPD: String of burglaries on Madison’s west side likely connected

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police say a string of recent burglaries on the city’s west side may be connected.

According to an incident report, several residences in the 5400 block of Dorsett Drive and the 5200 block of Hammersley Road were stolen from between 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.

Police said they believe four of the burglaries are tentatively linked due to the timeframe and close proximity of the houses.

Some residents told police they had bicycles stolen, while others said there was minor property damage to their homes due to forced entry.

Law enforcement have not yet identified any suspects in any of the cases.
