MADISON, Wis. — Madison police say a loaded gun was among the items stolen from an unlocked car in a driveway on the city’s southwest side.

The victim who lives on Highland Gate Way told officers that someone went through their unlocked vehicle at about 4 a.m. Tuesday. They reported a loaded gun — a Smith and Wesson with a gray handle and silver slide — was stolen, along with a concealed carry holster and garage door opener.

It is unknown if whoever stole the items entered the home with the garage door opener.

Police notified neighbors of the incident and are continuing to investigate.
