MPD investigating series of bike thefts near downtown

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are investigating a series of bike thefts from apartment complex garages in the city’s Central District.

According to an incident report, more than a dozen victims have reported locks being defeated and bikes of different types being stolen.

The release said one bike was taken from a person who is disabled and had a specially designed trike stolen.

The bike was an Ice Adventure Trike Bike with a mid-drive power motor, black seat, and two bags mounted on the rear, police said.
