Mount Horeb man killed in hit-and-run; Dane County deputies investigate
BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. — Dane County deputies are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened Wednesday.
According to the news release, a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian led to the death of a 26-year-old Mount Horeb man.
An initial investigation revealed that the victim was struck by the vehicle while he was jogging toward Mount Horeb on County Highway JG south of Bergum Road in the town of Blue Mounds.
Witnesses said the crash happened between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.
Officials said the victim was wearing running-type attire, and officials believed he was running near the shoulder of the road and was facing oncoming traffic.
