Motorists try to help woman struck in Milwaukee interchange
A motorist who tried to grab a woman before she was struck and killed in a downtown Milwaukee interchange says a number of drivers stopped to try to help the victim, including a semi driver who was able to block traffic as first responders rushed to the scene.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department says the woman was struck by a red SUV and another vehicle on a high rise bridge late Monday night. Witnesses reported the woman was dancing on the interstate before she was hit.
Auala Sefo Jr. says four motorists used their cell phone to illuminate the scene. Sefo says he stayed with the woman while his wife called 911. WITI-TV reported the driver of the SUV left the scene, but returned and has been arrested.
