More child pornography charges filed against former Madison radio DJ

MADISON, Wis. — A former Madison radio DJ is facing nine additional counts of child pornography.

Matthew Jones, who was known by Jackson Jones on Madison airwaves, now faces 10 total counts of possession of child pornography after more charges were added to his case this week, according to Dane County court records.

Jones was scheduled for a status conference in Dane County court Friday.

Jones, who lives in Mount Horeb, was arrested in February after a search of his house. The Mount Horeb Police Department says it was notified of possible child pornography possession in December.

According to court documents, Jones told detectives he used the sites Tumblr and Wickr for “sex chats and fantasies” and would often like or share images on the sites. He admitted to receiving nude images of underage girls from other users. His lawyer has claimed Jones never asked for the images and described the explicit chats as “fantasy talk.”

Jones was released on a signature bond in February under the condition he does not contact any minors.
