Monroe man pulled over twice in an hour, arrested on suspicion of 4th OWI

MONROE, Wis. — A Monroe man was arrested after being pulled over two times within 70 minutes Thursday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Monroe Police Department, officers were sent to 13th Avenue at 13th St. in response to a traffic accident involving a vehicle that crashed into a sign at 3:43 p.m. Police said the driver left the area.

The release said officers found the vehicle in the 1200 block of 12th Avenue and identified the driver as Frederick S. Neuenschwander, 53.

Neuenschwander was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license and failure to maintain control of a vehicle before being released.

Officers later found Neuenschwander’s vehicle at 4:57 p.m. after he was seen driving in the 700 block of 8th Avenue. The release said police pulled over Neuenschwander, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time.

Neuenschwander was arrested on a charge of a 4th offense OWI and taken to a jail.
