Monroe man cited for crashing into several mailboxes, driving away
MONROE, Wis. — A Monroe man was cited Monday for crashing into several mailboxes and driving away.
According to a news release from the Green County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to the north 2900 block of Hiawatha Road in Monroe after receiving a report of damage to several mailboxes at about 3:54 p.m.
Officials said when they arrived, they found out a crash had taken place and the vehicle was driven away from the scene. After conducting an investigation, authorities were able to identify Armando Temoxtle Sanchez, 24, as the driver.
The investigation showed that Sanchez was driving at around 2:30 a.m. when he lost control and hit the mailboxes.
Sanchez told officials he did not suffer any injuries and was wearing his seat belt at the time, though the vehicle sustained damage and none of the airbags deployed. Sanchez admitted to driving away after the crash.
Sanchez was cited for failure to report an accident to law enforcement, operating without a valid license and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
