Monona Terrace announces lineup for free summer concert series
MADISON, Wis. — In addition to free concerts on King Street, Madison area music fans will have another lineup of concerts to enjoy this summer.
Monona Terrace announced its free summer concert series Wednesday. All of the artists will play on the terrace rooftop while concertgoers enjoy views of Lake Monona and the State Capitol in a family-friendly environment.
Doors for each show open up at 5:30 p.m. with a quick game of trivia from America’s Pub Quiz starting at 6 p.m. Concerts are scheduled to start around 7 p.m.
May 30: The Playlist
The series will kick off on Thursday, May 30, with the Milwaukee-based band The Playlist. According to the band’s website, people can expect a mix of Top 40 hits from the last 40 years. The band has been nominated for several awards by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry. In 2007, WAMI named it the best new group.
June 6: WheelHouse
Madison natives WheelHouse will come to the terrace on June 6. With three-and-four-part harmonies, their folky sound has made them a favorite in Wisconsin and beyond.
June 13: 97Nine
Classic rock fans, it’s your turn for a night out on the terrace. Chicago-area rockers, 97Nine will make their way to Madison on June 13. The band brings classic rock hits from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s alive with a lot of energy and musicianship.
June 27: The LoveMonkeys
On June 27, the LoveMonkeys will come to Madison to blend rock, pop and raggae into a one-of-a-kind performance.
July 18: Madison County
A fan-favorite, Madison County is back for another year at the terrace. Country music fans will enjoy their takes on hit country songs as they enjoy the dog days of summer.
July 25: SuperTuesday
SuperTuesday will finish off the series on July 25. The band is perfect for pop, rock and even country.
