Monona Police warn residents of energy worker scam
MONONA, Wis. — Monona Police are issuing a warning to residents to be on the lookout for two men in a pickup truck.
According to a news release, police said the men claimed they were from an energy company and needed to check inside a resident’s house.
Police said the men did not provide any identification, but an elderly resident let one man check his electrical panel in the basement.
The resident later found that the man opened a safe in his basement and took $80 from his kitchen.
