Mobile bakery opens pop-up at Garver Feed Mill
Far Breton Bakery joins 13 other locally owned businesses at Garver Feed Mill.
At the beginning of August, Far Breton Bakery opened a pop-up food truck on the north patio of Garver Feed Mill on Thursdays. In its first two weeks, several items sold out due to high demand, so the bakery has shifted operations to be available every Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through the end of September.
Far Breton Bakery is known for its signature butter croissants, sugar buns and galettes. Owner Marie Arzel Young crafted Far Breton Bakery with mobility in mind. Rather than a traditional storefront, the bakery operates out of a bakery trailer, bringing Young’s tasty creations to various Wisconsin markets including Eau Claire, Menomonie, Madison and now Garver Feed Mill.
“Our experience with Garver patio has been outstanding! Not only have we seen drastic increases in bakery sales, we truly appreciate the care and consideration of Garver team promoting our pop-up,” said Young in a news release sent this week. “As a small, woman-owned business, the entire Garver community and neighborhood has been very welcoming and supportive.”
Young has had experience working as a professional pastry chef in several Madison restaurants including L’Etoile, Ovens of Brittany, Samba Brazilian Grill and Harvest. Since opening Far Breton Bakery in 2019, she has seen her business grow, and eventually hopes to expand into wholesale frozen pastries and continue collaborating with farmers markets in the area.
Far Breton Bakery also offers pastries every Sunday at the Northside Farmers Market from 8:30 am to noon.
