Missing 13-year-old, suspect in her disappearance located; Amber Alert canceled
JACKSON, Wis. — State authorities have canceled the Amber Alert for a 13-year-old reported missing Monday morning, saying she has been located. The suspect in her disappearance has also been located.
Authorities near Saukville, Wisconsin first issued a missing person alert for 13-year-old Samantha K. Stephenson on Monday, saying the teen was with 19-year-old Brandon A. Morgan, who officials believe is in a manic state. That alert was upgraded to an Amber Alert Monday afternoon.
The two were last seen in Menomonie around 5 a.m. Sunday.
Law enforcement officials said Stephenson and Morgan are believed to be in a relationship. Police also said Morgan mentioned possibly heading to Minnesota and is believed to be in a manic state. Officials added they don’t know what Morgan’s intentions are.
Authorities said the pair said they were going “underground,” turned off their cellphones, and cut off all communication.
