Missing Juneau County woman found safe, dispatch says

More than 200 people gathered Tuesday as the search continues for a missing Juneau County woman who is believed to have dementia or other cognitive impairment.

Juneau County dispatch confirmed to News 3 that 80-year-old Mary A. Myrdacz, of the town of Armenia, was found safe Tuesday at 3:07 p.m. within the original search grid around her home.

She had last been seen around 5 p.m. Sunday. Law enforcement officials said she left on foot from her home on County Road G and crews were searching a 10-square-mile area around Myrdacz’s home. The sheriff’s office said there were 224 searchers on the ground.

In the original alert, officials said Myrdacz’s first language is Polish and she is hard of hearing. They also said she has gone missing before and on that occasion she was found in a neighbor’s residence.
