Military Heritage Museum to open in Sheboygan
River dredging project delayed open
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — The Wisconsin Naval Ship Association’s Military Heritage Museum and Education Center is opening Saturday in Sheboygan.
While the museum is operated by the Naval Ship Association, it will honor all branches of the military.
Naval Ship Association President Larry Hinkelman said most exhibits and donations came from veterans and their families.
The museum briefly opened last year, but closed when its parking lot became a drying station for the Sheboygan River dredging project.
Hinkelman told Sheboygan Press Media there will be an official grand opening in August, but the association wanted to have the museum open in time for the Fourth of July.
The museum is free and will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday through July 7. It will be open on weekends after that.
