MILDRED “MILLIE” ELLA (WHARRY) AHRENSMEYER
Madison/Mildred Ahrensmeyer, age 90, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, April 25 at Middleton Heritage Senior Care.
Mildred “Millie” was born October 5, 1926 in Wisconsin Dells to Leonard and Nena (Henricksen) Wharry. She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School and married Lowell Ahrensmeyer on Valentine’s Day in 1948. Millie was employed at Oscar Mayer.
Millie loved her huge and well-kept gardens, filled with flowers and vegetables. Everything was meticulously free of weeds! Her lawn never had a twig or a fallen leaf on it. She loved the birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds, and always kept their feeders filled.
Millie is survived by daughters, Carol (Jerry) Connelly of Madison, Janet (Rick) Heimbruch of Waunakee; granddaughters, Kelly (Craig) Weisensel, Kris (Darin) Holden, Aly Heimbruch (Ryan Fielding); great-granddaughters, Eryn and Leah Weisensel; and sister-in-law Betty (Roger) Roznos of Baraboo.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell, in April 2014; and two sisters, Mabel McCarthy and Mae Bunce.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue, Madison, with Rev. Gerry Kuhnke officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
