Mildred H. “Millie” Karasinski
Mildred H. “Millie” Karasinski age 95, died on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Larson House in Columbus. She was born on September 10, 1916 in Chicago to Axel and Helen (Fridlund) Madsen. She was married to Frank Karasinski on November 7, 1953 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Mildred was employed as a builder and rebuilder of bombing sights for military planes with the U.S. Navy defense plant in Indianapolis IN.
Survivors include four sisters, Eunice Weihert of Waterloo, Violet Habeck of Park Falls, Betty (Joe) Conlin of Columbus, Jeanette (Robert) Gay of Clintonville; two brothers, Raymond (Lorraine) Madsen and Delwood (Linda) Madsen both of Columbus; two step-children, Ronald (Iris) Karasinski Sr. of Worth IL and Carol Taylor of Bradenton FL; three step grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1988; four sisters, Pearl Conlon, Doris Slagor, Alice Gilbertson, Evelyn Tiedt; four brothers, Robert Madsen, Frederick Madsen, Donald Madsen, Ted Madsen.
There will be no service. Inurnment will be in Willow Hills Memorial Park, Willow Springs, IL. A special thank you to the Larson House staff and Generations Home Care & Hospice for all the loving care provided to Millie.
