Mildred Arlene Vike
STOUGHTON, Wis. — Mildred Arlnene Vike, age, 85, of Stoughton passed away on Saturday April 8, 2017 at Milestone Senior Living with her loving family by her side. She was born May 17, 1931 in Stoughton, the daughter of Sam and Agnes (Bondehagen) Hanson. Mildred married Donald Vike on October 16, 1951 in Stoughton. She graduated from Stoughton High School in 1949. After high school she worked for the State Department. Later, Mildred worked several years, part time at the Bell Telephone Company. She worked many years at home and in the tobacco fields. Mildred was always very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her loving husband, Donald of 65 years; daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Breitbach; sons, Dale (Sandy) Vike, and Duane (Janet) Vike; grandchildren, Ryan, Doug, Brian, Joe, Kristin, Carin, Nikki, Emily; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Norman(Pauline) Hanson; sisters, Nancy Peterson, and Katherine Lund; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David, and James; and sisters, Carol, and Shirley.
Funeral services will be held at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 310 East Washington Street, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Thursday April 13, with Reverend Dick Halom presiding. Burial will take place at LUTHERAN EAST CEMETERY at 11 a.m. on Wednesday April 19. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Hwy 51, Stoughton, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday April 12 and at church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would especially like to thank Amy at Skaalen Home and the staff at Milestone Senior Living for their care, especially Dan, April, and Sam.
