Mike McCarthy visits Madison
Packers head coach supports American Family Children's Hospital
MADISON — Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and his wife, Jessica, visited Madison Friday to attend the Merrill Lynch Grand Gala at the Gordon Events Center on the UW Campus.
The Gala benefits the American Family Children’s Hospital. The McCarthys have been long-time supporters of the hospital.
McCarthy, of course, talked a little football. The Packers have had a busy off-season signing quarterback Aaron Rodgers and linebacker Clay Matthews to lucrative contract extensions.
Last week, the Packers selected 11 players in the NFL Draft.
“We are excited about our draft we are excited about the way the draft fell there were a lot of good players on the board when we drafted,” McCarthy said. “I think every team in the league feels good about their draft today.
“I think that is common place but I think anytime you give Ted Thompson and our personnel 11 cracks at it so we feel good about having 11 draft picks coming in.”VIDEO: McCarthy visits Madison for hospital gala
