Middleton man faces 7th OWI after hitting median, flattening two tires
Police: Man refused field sobriety test
MIDDLETON, Wis. — A 52-year-old Middleton man faces his seventh charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he was taken into custody early Wednesday morning, according to Middleton police.
The incident happened in the 6400 block of Century Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
According to Middleton police, Ahmed Faouzi of Middleton was driving eastbound down Century when the car he was driving struck the center median, flattening two of its tires, and continued without stopping.
A Middleton police officer heard the crash, and found Faouzi inside the disabled car several blocks away. Officers noted that Faouzi was displaying signs of being impaired, including slurring his speech, and had an odor of intoxicants.
Faouzi refused a field sobriety test and was taken into custody on felony OWI charges.
