Michigan juvenile arrested after pursuit of stolen vehicle in Wisconsin

MAUSTON, Wis. — A male juvenile from Michigan was taken into custody for allegedly knowingly fleeing an officer and other traffic citations.

A release said Thursday at 12:59 a.m. Juneau County Communications Center learned that one of the Wisconsin State Patrol troopers was pursuing a dark blue Jeep that had been reported stolen out of Michigan.

Juneau County deputies set up tire deflation devices along Interstate-90 westbound near mile post 72 in Lemonweir Township. At 1:05 a.m. Wisconsin State Patrol ended the pursuit of the vehicle.

Deputies stayed by mile post 72 and saw a vehicle without headlamps and as it passed, the deputies found that it was the same vehicle pursued by the state patrol.

Deputies attempted to stop the car, but the the Jeep continued to drive. The release said the vehicle took an exit at Mauston where Mauston Police deployed tire deflation devices at Gateway Avenue and Interstate-90.

The vehicle hit a road sign while attempting to avoid the sign. It continued on EB on STH until it drove into a ditch and stopped.

There were no injuries or other occupants in the vehicle.
