Michael E. Pinnow

Michael E. Pinnow, age 66, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center after a courageous 1½ year battle with Prostate Cancer.

He was born in Janesville, on April 29, 1950, the son of Edward and Pauline (Restivo) Pinnow. He graduated from Parker High School in 1968, and married Kathleene Harris in Michigan on Nov. 13, 1969. Mike retired from General Motors after 32 years, and later worked for Coachman’s Inn for 8 years. He was a quiet man who had a love for music and would spontaneously break out in song and dance. He was an avid woodworker, an accomplished electrician, excelled at dance, and loved the outdoors. Mike had a deep love for his family and enjoyed family get-togethers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathleene Pinnow; 2 Cherished daughters, Kimmy (Matthew) Kakuske and Kerri Lynn Jensen; 5 grandchildren: Cody (Alyssa Dummer) Jensen, Haylee (Noah) Keller, Caleb (Caitlin Piper) Pinnow, Camryn Jensen and Jada Heller; 2 great granddaughters, Hazel Pinnow and Alice Jensen; mother, Pauline Pinnow; sister, Pat (David) Ellis; in-laws: Lillian and Richard Stelter, Mike and Karen Harris, Jim and Libbie Comstock and Kenneth Harris; a very special aunt and uncle, Claude and Barb Klund; many very special nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Thomas and Pauline Restivo and Lewis and Mabel Pinnow.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, with Rev. James Melvin officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Lasting Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established in Michael’s name. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY is assisting the family.

Mike’s family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and gratitude to Dr. Emily Robinson and her staff, the entire staff of ICU and SCU at Mercy Hospital for their amazing care and compassion, and Pastor Jim Melvin for his care and guidance given to Mike and his family.
