Meuer’s goal gets Badgers to Big Ten final
Wisconsin faces Iowa Sunday
WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — McKenna Meuer’s goal in the ninth minute gave the Wisconsin Badgers women’s soccer team a 1-0 win over Minnesota in the semifinals of the Big Ten women’s soccer tournament in West Lafayette, Indiana Friday afternoon.
Brianna Steltzer’s corner kick was played by the Minnesota goalkeeper right to Meuer (Madison, WI) who scored her second goal of the season and her eighth of her Badger career.
Genevieve Richard earned her 14th shutout of the season as Wisconsin outshot Minnesota 22-6.
The Badgers will face Iowa for the Big Ten women’s soccer championship Sunday afternoon at 1 pm CT.
