Merva Ann (Millette)Templeton, age 81, born January 19, 1933, in Goodman, WI, the daughter of Elmer E. Millette and Irene Christine (Zeimet) Millette, passed away Friday, July 3, 2014. Merva and Calhoun Templeton (formerly of McMinnville, TN) eloped on April 8, 1950, in Dubuque, IA.

She is survived by a daughter, Kristi (Robert) Marks; son, Cal Brady (Barbara Stephani) Templeton; son, William Templeton; son, Scott (Caroline) Templeton; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Millette; 2 brothers, Elmer Jr (Evelyn) Millette and Kenneth (“Peggy” Margaret Cardarella); deceased brother Roger (Arlene) Millette; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friend Susan (Erickson- Templeton) Krenz.

Merva was a long-time resident of Madison, WI, and previously attended Madison East High School. Merva was employed by Oscar Mayer, Co. for 13 yrs, and Gallagher Tent & Awning for 5 yrs, as well as Skipper Buds for 10 yrs as a talented, self-taught seamstress. Merva enjoyed working on family genealogy with her mother and bowling with relatives and friends and being a member of the “600 Club.” Merva enjoyed working with ceramics and loved interior decorating. Merva also attended Madison Area Technical College for upholstery classes. She enjoyed TV biographies, history programs, watching NASCAR, and was a whiz at crossword puzzles. At one time or another everyone attended one of her gatherings for some good food.

Merva was a caring, loving, hardworking, and talented person who will be missed very much by her family and friends. “May the lord wrap his loving arms around you and take you home … “

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue Madison, on Saturday, July 12, 2014.
